I still remember vividly when this was released - a sort of Eddie Jefferson meets Bill Withers folkiness about it that captivated me in my early teens. And all his own material. A treasure that he never bettered for me.
Let alone that insanely-funky Rhythm section ,that would make Herbie's Jazz-Funk look like,a look-a-like:)
